Marjorie Broner Obituary

Mrs. Marjorie Broner was born to the late Nancy Scott and the late Johnnie Williams on July 31, 1943, in Terrell County. At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ, and attended several churches. She was a member of Greater New Covenant Church of Sasser, Georgia, where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was educated in the public schools of Terrell County. Many knew her by “MB”. You could always catch her singing her two favorite songs, “Jesus on the Main Line” and “I Come Over Here to Live Right”. She loved reading her bible and preaching the Word of God. Her favorite scriptures were Isaiah 58:1 and Jonah 1:1-6. Towards the end of her life she moved to Atlanta, Georgia with her daughter, Katherlyn, and granddaughter, Jessica (Patrice, Jr.) Griffin, where they cared for her until she was called home. She had numerous caregivers: Raishawn, Shontorria, Brittany, Quanza and Cassandra to name a few. All of her children and grandchildren made sure she was taken care of, but most of all that she was loved. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, John and Henry Williams and John Gardner, Jr.; her two sisters, Mary Williams and Pauline Clay; her son, Henry Lee Broner; daughter, Bonita Carter; and great-grandson, Dondravious Calhoun; along with a special friend, Junie Mae. She leaves behind: her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, John Henry Broner; two sons, John Lee Broner of New Orleans, LA, and Randy (Patricia) Broner of Snellville, GA; two daughters, Katherlyn (Leander) Teemer of Atlanta, GA, and Lucille (Frank) Clark of Sasser, GA. Though Kaylin Calhoun was her great grand, she raised her as her own. She adopted and raised, Bridgit Broner of Atlanta, GA, Curtis Broner and Shemika (Montavious) Miller and Lamara Pickett of Albany, GA; two sisters, Elizabeth (J.C.) Jones and May Emma Cladd, both of Dawson GA; three brothers, John L. (Gwen) Gardener, Robert (Pearl) Gardner and Milton (Linda) Gardner, all of Dawson, GA; three special friends, Mattie Jackson of Albany, GA, Joyce Williams of Tampa, FL, and Martha Toomer of Sasser, GA; twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
