Thomas “Tiplite” Whitting, the son of the late David Whitting and the late Susie Walton. He began his life’s journey on August 15, 1928, in Dawson, Terrell County, Georgia.
Realizing that God would be the foundation of his life, Thomas confessed his love for Christ at an early age.
“Tip” as he was affectionately called was educated in the public school system of Terrell County, Georgia.
Thomas had a kind and humble spirit and worked for over 65 years, doing what he loved best, caring and helping others. He was employed with Dupree Funeral Home for a numerous amount of years and later retired from Harvey’s Funeral Home.
On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, our dear Thomas departed his early life for sweet eternity with his Creator at Dawson Health and Rehabilitation Center, where he enjoyed and called his home. In the midst of sorrow, we give thanks to God for the many years, 89, he allowed us to share with “Tip”. We realize that God is too wise to make any mistakes
In addition to his parents, Thomas was proceeded in death by his wife Robbie Whitting. A brother David Whitting. Three sons, Fredrick Thomas Whitting, Carl Curtis Davis, Willie C. Davis; son in law Edward Johnson.
Precious loving memories will always be cherished by his children three daughters, Genevieve (Al) Oleh of Aurora, Illinois, Eleanor Johnson of Powder Springs, Georgia and Bedelia Holloway of Dawson, Georgia; five sons, Hayward (Joann) Whitting of Albany, Georgia, Earl Whitting, Cedric Whitting, Timothy (Denise) Whitting, and Alfred (Essie) Davis, all of Dawson, Georgia; one brother, George (Lillie) Walton of Albany, Georgia; four sister, Annie Hairston, Dollie Roberts both of Dawson, Georgia, Mattie (Damien) Dusue of Gainesville, Florida, and Ceola Ross of Atlanta, Georgia; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
