A time to be born: On December 30, 1934, Bennie Benton Sr. was born to the late Thomas Benton Sr. and Carrie Bell Benton.
A time to Praise: Bennie Benton Sr. confessed Christ at an early age.  He joined Notchaway CME Church in Baker County, Georgia, where he served until his health failed.
A time to Grow: Bennie was educated in the Baker County School System. He was married to the late Mrs. Dora Lee Smith Benton and to this union two children were born, Willie J Benton and Bennie Benton Jr.
A time to work: Bennie worked for Baker County School System as a bus driver for many years. He was one of the best mechanics known in Newton, Georgia.
A time to rest and be remembered: On Monday, April 3, 2017, Bennie Benton Sr. gained his wings and was greeted by his parents, loving wife Dora Lee Benton, daughter; Rosie Lee Peterson Benton, Brothers; Levi Benton, Jerry Benton, Barney Benton and family and friends.  He leaves to cherish his loving memories Two sons; Willie J (Willie Denise) Benton, Albany, GA, Bennie L (Mary Evon) Benton, Newton, GA, Three brothers; Willie Lee Benton, Ivory Joe Benton, and Thomas Benton Jr., Three Sisters; Ann Benton, Eunice Benton Branner, Rutha Lee Benton, Cora Lee Benton and Jeanette Benton Thompson, one sister-in-law, six brothers-in-laws, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loving family and friends.
