Bernard Burks was born on December 16, 1967, to Arthur Burks and Ora Pearl Burks in Cuthbert, GA. Bernard transitioned to his eternal rest on July 23, 2022, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany,
GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Burks and Ora Pearl Burks, and brother, Don Burks.
Bernard graduated from Randolph Clay High School in 1986. He served in the Air Force for several years. He also was employed by Burks Medal Building, Fort Benning's in Columbus, GA, and UPS in NJ. Bernard had a love and passion for fishing whenever he could. He loved the outdoors. He had a passion for traveling and went to different places when he could. He loved his family and would give you the shirt off his back. He adored children, and he always made for as many as he could. Bernard was known for his advice that everyone enjoyed receiving. He also enjoyed joking, gardening, and planting flowers. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Bernard leaves his memories to be cherished by: loving and devoted wife, Earline R. Burks; stepson, Gary L. Jones, Jr.;
stepdaughter, Sondra Jones; three grandchildren, Ariyah, Ari, and Jeremiah;one sister, Eva Latimore; three uncles, Roy (Martha) Burks,
Benny Floyd (Dorothy) Burks, and Johnnie Lee (Doris) Burks,all of Cuthbert, GA, five aunts, Janie Mae (James) Edwards and
Lillie Mae (Lucus) Marcus, both of Cuthbert, GA, and Carolyn (Tommie) Lewis of Columbus, GA, and Susie Burks and Lula Burks, both of OH;
two nephews, Terrance Alford and Homer Robinson, three great-nephews, Imahi Bufford, Taylor Robinson, and Omari Daniels;
mother-in-law; Pinkey Robinson; a sister-in-law, Inez Robinson; and host of other close family and friends who will all miss him dearly.
