Obituary

Brenda Faye Ham, affectionately known as Faye, was born in Dawson, Georgia on December 31, 1962 to Ida Bell Ham and Arthur Lee Woodson. At a young age, Faye loved to go to church and praise the Lord. Faye attended the public schools of Terrell County in Dawson, Georgia and was an honorary member of the Terrell High School class of 1979. She was proud to be a Greenwave. After high school, Faye worked at manual labor jobs where she would often help remodel homes and businesses. Anyone who knew Faye, knew she was a light in this cloudy world. Wherever she went, she was always bringing joy and spreading happiness. She loved to see and make others laugh and feel loved. She never met a stranger. On September 8, as Faye was surrounded by those she loved and those who loved her dearly, she made her heavenly transition from this earthly place. She is preceded in death by: her grandparents, Mr. Charlie Ham, Mrs. Jessie Pearl Ham, Mr. Webster Woodson, and Mrs. Rosie B. Woodson; sister, Shunkeisha Woodson; uncles, J.W. Woodson, William Woodson, Jimmy Bronner, and Tom Woodson; aunts, Grace Norwood, Willie M. Irvin, Ella M. Lockett, Ruby D. Reddick, Rachel Miller, and Mary Mosley; and a host of extended family and friends. She leaves to cherish her wonderful and loving memory: two sons, Derrick Ham of Albany, Georgia and Adrian Ham of Jacksonville, Florida; father, Arthur Lee Woodson; mother, Ida Bell Ham; father who raised her as his own, Albert Benjamin; brothers, Alexander Threats and Tarus Benjamin; sisters, Connie Benjamin, Carla Benjamin, Alfreda Benjamin, Elizabeth (Tim) Ross, Tewonna (Timothy) Jones, Kim Woodson, and Latoya Woodson; uncle, Harold (Mattie) Woodson; aunts, Marth Smith, Geraldine Seay, Mary Woodson, Dorothy Woodson of New Jersey, Lillie B. Mansfield and Lizzie Mae Winbush, both of San Diego, California; a host of nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends; a special friend, Mildred Lawson; and her long-time companion, Mike Conic.
