Mr. Charlie Will Mayes was born September 8, 1956 to the late Ada Bell Mayes in Dawson, Georgia.  He was raised as their own by late Willie Lee Mayes, Sr and Bertha Mayes.

He was employed with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as an orderly until his health began to fail.  He was known by everybody in Dawson, Georgia.  On June 4, 2017, He was called from refreshment to reward.  He is preceded in death by his grandmother: Lizzie Mae Brown; grandfather: Tommie C. Brown; Sister: Brenda Dora; Uncle: Jessie Johnson and Aunt: Bessie Johnson.

He is survived by Jeneenia (Corey) Hines, of Gainesville, FL.  Four brothers: Willie Lee Mayes, Jr, of Dawson, GA; David Lee Mayes, of Hartford, Ct; Sammie Lee Mayes, of Tampa, FL; and Tracey Flowry, of Dawson, GA.  Five Sisters: JoeAnn Johnson, of Cataula, GA; Anita Mayes-Moreland, of Union City, GA; Wendy Dawson, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Mary Lee Hill, of Gainesville, GA; and Ann Jackson, of Gainesville, GA.  Grandchildrens: Ja'Koria Hines, Trinity Hines, and Ar'Jzon Hines, all of Gainesville, FL.  Uncle: Arthur Lee (Josephine) Brown, of Fayetteville, NC.  Four Aunts: Louvenia Clay and Lula Mae Clay, of Dawson, GA; Alice Mae Houston, of Fayetteville, NC; and Shirley Mae Counsin, of Cleveland, OH.  A special friend: Sterring Humphrey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
