Obituary

Michael Grier, Sr., was born on March 6, 1957, to the late Henry Grier and Addie Sloan Grier, in Dawson, Georgia. At an early age, Michael confessed his life to Christ and joined Union Grove P.B. Church, of Dawson Georgia, where he served as a deacon until his health failed. He was joined in holy matrimony to Dorothy Ann Richardson of Bronwood, Georgia, and to this union, one son, Michael Grier, Jr., was born. Michael was educated by the public school system of Terrell County in Dawson, Georgia. He was a member of the class of 1975 and a member of Terrell High Marching Band. He was employed for many years at Steven Industries and Reeves Construction Company, in Albany, Georgia. Michael departed his earthly life and transitioned to eternal rest on January 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by one sister, Pamela Denise Grier; maternal grandparents, Bessie Mae Sloan and Elder Andrew Sloan; fraternal grandparents, Rebecca Grier Calloway and Henry Grier, Sr.; and two granddaughters, Nikernia Grier and Tikkeria Grier. Michael leaves to forever cherish his memories: his loving mother, Addie Mae Sloan Grier; loving son, Michael Grier, Jr.; four grandchildren, Wydetra Grier, J'Mia Grier, Y'Kerida Grier, and Mikeria Grier; one brother, Elder James Grier, Sr., (Jean); two sisters, Sheryl Grier and Helen Hilyard; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed by all.
