Mother Josie Mae Bridges-Jones was born to the late Walter Bridges and Dollie Owens-Bridges in Buena Vista, GA on September 15, 1930.

At an early age, she confessed her love for Christ and joined St. Mathis Baptist Church in Dawson, GA. Later in life she began to fellowship with the Jehovah's Witness at the Kingdom Hall in Dawson until her health failed.

Josie moved to Dawson at an early age where she attended the public school system of Terrell County. She later met and married Freddie Lee Jones "Bottom" who preceded her in death. To this union four children were born that added to her union of seven children.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Gladys Ruth Johnson and Georgia Mae Henderson, two brothers: Walter Bridges and Leonard Bridges and two children: Terrance Bridges and Delores Vontresa Jones.

Josie departed this earthly life on December 27, 2017 at the Wilson Hospice House in Albany, GA surrounded by family & friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Seven daughters: Gwendolyn (Mike), Juliette (Johnny), Jeanette, Debra, Brenda,Lillie Bell (Julius), Shirley (Willie C) all of Dawson, GA; Four sons: Kenneth (Shirley) of Columbus, GA, Harry (Debra) of Albany, GA, Michael (Mary Ann) and Calvin Wayne of Dawson, GA. Two sisters Annie Pearl West of Albany, GA, Mary Prince of Miami, Fl. One sister in law: Lela Mae Bridges of Delray Beach, FL; twenty two grand-children, seventy two great grand-children, eleven great, great grand-children; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends,a special transport driver, Montavious. One devoted niece: Yvonne "Bonnie" Knighton; three loving caregivers: Wanda Taylor, Gwendolyn Lassiter and Sherwin Riggins.
