Obituary
Blessed be the name of the Lord for 97 years on this side of Glory for Sis. Laurel Hillman Weston. The seventh child of thirteen children born to the late Arthur and Vilene Lee Hillman on January 13, 1921 in Springvale, GA, Randolph County. On this beautiful and sunny day of July 17, 2018. Our Lord and Savior dispatched his angels for a touch to tell his child it's time to come home.
At an early age Sis. Laurel was taught about the Goodness of the Lord and he is always in control. She joined the Bethel Baptist Church in Springvale, GA and later years she was a faithful member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church Bronwood, GA under the leadership of the late J.L. Wilson, H.C. Wilson, and now Bishop Dr. Moore. Sis. Laurel was taught to take care and visit the elderly in her community.
Sis. Weston was joined in Holy matrimony to the late Jesse Weston, III and unto that union 2 daughters were born. In addition to her husband and parents she was proceeded in death by all 12 siblings; Bertha, Christine, Julius, Moses, Emma Zell, Cleo, Alieen, Doris, Rosie Lee, Will Arthur, James and Walter May, (2) son-in-laws; Alonza Lewis, Sr. and Johnny Benjamin, Sr. and (1) granddaughter; Elmonica Benjamin.
She leaves to cherish her memories two devoted daughters Rosa Anna Weston, Lewis, Dawson, GA and Charlie Claude Weston Benjamin, Orlando, Florida; 6 grandchildren; Rev. Dr. James (Annie) Lewis, Alonza (JoAnne) Lewis, Jr., Zelda Brown, Garland (Ruth) Lewis, all of Dawson, GA., Joannette Benjamin, Atlanta, GA and Rev. Johnny B. Benjamin, Jr. Orlando, FL. (16) great grandchildren; Cedric, Trolona, Dontae, Johnny III, Laurel, Christopher, Christian, Journeya, Albert II, Alre'K, Alonza III, Christina, Allison, Alaina, Alicia, Emariana; (15) great great grandchildren Jahmayria, Lequavion, Keonte',Laiana, De'Asia, Elmaria, Miracle, Emmonds IV, Ashton, De'Andre, Ava, Ean, Christian, Jr., Johri and Freddie, III, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that loved her dearly, along with Willie C. Weston whom she raised as a son other family and friends, and loving caregivers Sherilyn Mansfield and Melody Green.
