(Walton) Johnson
October 31, 1947 – May 14, 2017
Leola Diane Johnson was born in Leary, Georgia on October 31, 1947 to the late John Walton and the late Mae Dell Henry. She was also preceded in death by a loving stepfather, Robert Henry. She attended public school in Calhoun County, Georgia. She peacefully departed this life on May 14, 2017 and transition to a new home that now awaits her.
She married James Harold Johnson, whom, after 45 years of love and happiness, preceded her in death. To this union, their three children were born: Renee, Harriet, and James Jr.
Because her love was unconditional, she was loved and adored by many! Leola was known as a loving wife, mother, daughter, daughter- in-law, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, Godmother, and a beloved friend. To us, she was well-known as "mom." She joined Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church in 1980. She was an extremely hard worker and enjoyed cooking for her church family. She served faithfully until her health failed. She was preceded in death by two brothers: James Walton of Clearwater, Fl. Johnnie Will Walton of St. Petersburg, FL.
Her memories will be cherished by all whom knew her. Her legacy will be carried on. She leaves in peace, two daughters: Reneé Marshall, of Jacksonville, FL and Harriet Johnson, of Albany, GA. One son, James Johnson, of Albany, GA. A devoted son-in-law: Arthur Marshall, of Jacksonville, FL. Two grandchildren: Jasmine and Jarryd Marshall, both of Jacksonville, FL. Two sisters: Claudia Perry (J.C. Hill) and Jeannie Boyd, both of Largo, FL. One brother: Johnny Robert Henry of Largo, FL. A very special aunt: Dollie Barnes of Melbourne, Fl. Three sisters-in-law: Evelyn J. Houston, of Albany, GA; Elouise Walton, of St. Petersburg, FL; Martha Davenport, of Albany, GA. One brother in law: Thomas Houston of Albany, GA; A dear and devoted best friend, Harriet Williams, of Albany, GA. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
