Otis died peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, in Dawson, Georgia.  He was born in Reynolds, Georgia to the late Otis and Eva Kate Grant.  He moved to Atlanta at a very young age.  There he met and married Thelma Yarborough in 1976.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Thelma Grant and five children from a previous marriage, Otis Grant III (Nola), Kelvin Grant, Charlene Underwood (Tony), Cathy Grant, Karen Waters,, stepdaughter, Stacia Byrd that he raised as his own.  He also has a sister, Sylvia Craig of Atlanta.  He had a host of grands, great grands and one great-great grand as well as a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Otis and Eva Grant, Sr., a brother, Joe Grant, a sister, Ernestine Howard and a daughter, Pamela Grant.

Otis was a faithful Christian and wonderful husband, father, and friend.  He dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized in 1977 as one Jehovah's Witnesses and remained faithful until his death.  He loved talking to people about the bible, traveling and cooking on the grill.  He was affectionally known as Poppa O and OT.  He will be missed dearly
