Queen Ester Eady Davis was born September 24, 1924 in Baker County, GA to the late Clifton Eady and Katie Jean Hawkins Eady. She departed this life at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, April 5, 2017.
She was a factory worker and worked for Royal Poultry in Camilla, GA. She also worked for the Mitchell County School System. She received her GED in her 70s from Mitchell County School System.
She enjoyed sewing, singing, praising the Lord, and taking walks. One of her favorite quotes was "pretty is as pretty does."
She joined Walker Street COGIC in 1961 where she faithfully served until her death. She was affectionately known as the "Mother" of her church.
She preceded in death by her husband Willie Lee Davis, Sr, her parents Clifton and Katie Eady, Brothers; James Eady, Sr., Benjamin Eady, Sr., Sylvester Eady, John Lee Eady Sr., Sisters; Elizabeth Green, Sarah Walden, and Ella Mae Dean.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Willie Lee Davis Jr., Camilla, Ga; Lynda (Eugene) Burrows, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Jimmy Lee (Irene) Davis, Columbus, Ga; Juanita Thomas, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Horace Lee (Tamara) Davis Sr., Albany, Ga. Brothers: Israel Eady Sr. and Saul Eady Sr. Sister: Katie Bradley and Mattie Lee Freeman. Also, she leaves to be cherished by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives, a special friend sister Janie White and sorrowing friends.
