Sis. Ruby Lee Jackson was born on May 16, 1921 to the late Alice Martin Jackson and Matthew Jackson in Shellman, GA.  She departed this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior on July 14, 2017 at Willson Hospice House, Albany, GA, surrounding by her family and loved ones.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member until the declining of her health of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Shellman, GA, where she held many positions such as: Mother of the Church for over thirty years, Secretary of the Church for over forty years and the President of the Mission for several years.

During her lifetime she was a homemaker and loved cooking for her family, she also loved her cats, flowers, and friends.  Most of all she loved the Lord.  Her favorite songs were "Glory, Glory" and "Won't it be Grand".  Her favorite hymns were "Amazing Grace", "A Charge to Keep I Have" and "Father, I Stretch my hand to thee".

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Johnny Jackson, to this union twelve children were born.  Four preceded her in death: McArthur Jackson, Charlie Jackson, and two infant babies.  She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Three sisters, Mary Bell Allen, Martha Jones, and Viola Hudson; Three brothers: Matthew Jackson, Jessie Jackson, and Willie James Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her earthly memories include: Four daughters, Carolyn (Michael) Starling, of Cuthbert, GA; Catherine (Herman) Holmes, of Leesburg, GA; Mae Lois (Joe) Jarrell, of Albany, GA; and Alice Moore, of Cocoa, FL.  Four sons: Willie (Ollie) Jackson, of Cocoa, FL; Walter Jackson of Merritt Island, FL; Johnny (Ivory) Jackson, of Atlanta, GA; and John Jackson, of Dawson, GA.  Her memories also will be cherished by her daughters-in-laws: Costella Jackson (who was very devoted and by her side until the end), of Dawson, GA; Carrie Jackson, of Cocoa, FL,; and Susie Jackson, of Shellman, GA.  One sister: Josephine Mason, of West Palm, FL; Two brothers, Elijah Jackson, of St. Petersburg, FL; and Henry Jackson, of West Palm Beach, FL.  Thirty-one grandchildren, forty-five great-grands, eight great-great-grands, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
