Carlton "Bo" Dixon

Carlton was born on January 7, 1956 in Attapulgus, GA to Roosevelt Dixon and Lucy Curry. Later that year the family moved to Newark, NJ where Carlton received his education in Newark Public schools. As a teenager you could often find “Bo” at the local park playing football and basketball. As a young adult Carlton began working with his brother John for Meyers furniture. He married Jennifer Curington on August 9, 1975. To their Union were born two sons, Carlton (Terry) and Craig.

Over the years “Bo” continued to have a successful career in the furniture business as a Delivery Driver being employed by such companies as Joseph Cory, Pitusa Furniture and the Credit Doctors. Aiming to please the customer and believing no delivery was impossible, “Bo” at times would strap a refrigerator on his back and carry it up a flight of stairs.

After moving back to Georgia, “Bo” went to work for the Golden Peanut Company. He later married Elaine Grier on Dec 25, 2006 in Dawson, GA. To this union was born a son, Nazire Dixon.

“Bo” loved singing, listening to music and having fun with the family. He also loved to cook and BBQ as if he was a self-proclaimed chef. However, according to his siblings, he would have more ingredients on the floor than in the pot. “Bo” also was a suave dresser and loved to serenade the ladies with his smooth voice. According to his Sisters, Rhee and Bob, this is why he had so many kids. “You have to be a really fly dude to have two kids named after you”.

Carlton “Bo” Dixon transitioned unexpectedly on June 26, 2020 in Irvington, NJ at the age of 64.

“Bo” is preceded in death by his Mother Lucy Curry, Father Roosevelt Curry, Siblings Mary McDonald, Gladys McElveen, William Curry and Shelaine Curry, and Father-in-law Cosby Duck.

Carlton “Bo” Dixon is survived by: his Wife Elaine Dixon, his 7 Children Carlton Curington - FL, Rev. Tyshon Davis, Sr. (Carrie) - NJ, Craig Dixon - FL, Shakeerah Bacote - NJ, Carlton Robinson - NJ, Shauntay Abnathya (Derrick) - NJ, Nazire Dixon - GA and 1 stepson Deametric Grier - GA. 5 Siblings Roosevelt Curry – GA, Essie Baker – NJ, Bobby Dixon – NJ, John Dixon – NJ, Theresa Curry (Suen) – NJ, Mother-in-law – Christine Grier, Sisters-in-Law Brenda Harris (Larry), Dororthy Green (John) and Olivia Grier. The mothers of his children Jennifer Dixon, Loretta Davis-Chambers, Diane Bacote and Carol Robinson. 18 Grandchildren, 1 Step Grandson, 1 Great Grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
