Gerald Jackson was born on December 30, 1952, in Newark, New Jersey. He was the fourth born son to the late Johnny C. Jackson and Mary Jackson Mike. He attended schools in Calhoun County. He then moved to Florida in 1978 where he resided for 10 years. While in Florida, he began a career at the Royal Plaza Hotel as a houseman. In the early 90s, he decided to move back home to Edison, Georgia to be closer to his family. Once he was settled in Edison, Gerald began a career with the City of Edison, Georgia as a maintenance specialist. He joined Davis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny L. Jackson; one nephew, Sammy Mike III. He leaves to cherish his memories with three brothers, Earl Jackson (Pearl), John “Snake” Jackson, and Sammie Mike Jr. (Saretha), all of Warner Robins, GA. Sammy Mike IV, and Sammy Mike V; one niece, Deondria Zackery; one special great-niece, Jakayla Jackson; three aunts, Inez Holley, Johnnie Mae Holley of Orlando, FL, and Maxine Holley of Winter Garden, FL; and a host of cousins, and sorrowing friends.
