Mattie Pearl Price was the daughter of the late Horace and Mattie Campbell. She was born October 7, 1931, in Shellman, Georgia. She peacefully departed this life on January 25, 2020, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Mattie gave her life to Christ at a very young age and was a member of Mount Airy Baptist Church. Her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ gave her peace and joy. Mattie was educated in the Shellman Public School System in Shellman, Georgia. She served as a nurse assistant for Jo Ann Burgin Nursing Home for over 15 years. Mattie Pearl Price was joined in holy matrimony to the late Isaiah Price, Sr. Mattie and Isaiah were blessed with a family of eleven children. Mattie was a devoted wife and mother who loved all her children. Mattie was a very kind-hearted person who treated everyone with respect. Mattie Price was a true warrior and fought the good fight of faith. She transitioned into the arms of God and entered eternal rest. Mattie will forever be remembered in our hearts.
Mattie was preceded in death by: her late husband, Isaiah Price, Sr.; four children, Willie Campbell, Clifford Campbell, Bernice Price, and Raye Jean Price; two brothers, Earl Campbell and Ben Campbell; four sisters, Mae Lelia Robinson, Jewel Hulbert, Mae Florence Brown, and Minnie Lee Barnes. Her beloved memories will forever be cherished by her family: seven children, Willie Pearl Thomas of Kenner, LA, Virginia Price of Dawson, GA, Brenda (Terrence) James of Columbus, GA, Isaiah (Elizabeth) Price of Dawson, GA, Linda Lily of Shellman, GA, Cassandra (Anthony) Pearman of Shellman, GA, and Eddie (Trice) Price of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Essie Bell (Johnny) Frost of Morgan, Georgia, Daisy Mae White of Cleveland, OH, and Ethel Bee Williams of Miami, FL; one brother, Oscar (Sheila) Campbell of Arlington, GA; twenty-seven grandchildren and fifty great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
