Millie Jackson Powellwas born on February 15, 1947, to the late Ike and Pauline Staffin in Randolph County, Georgia. She departed this life at Columbus Specialty Hospital in Columbus, Georgia, on October 3, 2020.
At an early age, Millie accepted Christ in her life and joined Enterprize Baptist Church, where she remained an active member until her health declined.
Millie is preceded in death by two husbands, Sammie Jackson and Ben Powell; three sisters, Essie Mae Roberts, Minnie Staffin, and Mary Miller; and one brother, Ulysses Staffin.
To cherish her memories and mourn her passing, she leaves her children, Jennifer Crump (Adlai) of Monticello, Florida, Ricky Knighton (Ashley) of Phenix City, Alabama, and Markease Knighton of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren; sisters, Lenia Bell Ferguson of Cocoa, Florida, Mary Ann Staffin of Bay City, Florida, and Annie Session (Slap) of Dawson, Georgia; brother, Willie Fred Staffin of Albany, Georgia; two special nieces, Pamela James (Tyrone) and Vontresa Hughes (Morris); two great-nieces, Shardasia Molden (like a daughter) and Ty’Mela James; three great-nephews, Deontae Molden, and Ty’keivyon and Mintaveiyuen James; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
