Rebecca Williams Obituary

AS RECORDED IN THE BOOK OF ECCLESIASTES.

“To everything there is a season and a time to every purposes:  a time to be born and time to die.  All in the fulfillment of God’s Divine will must be done.”

Mother Rebecca Anderson Williams was born on August 18, 1918, in Terrell County.   She was the youngest child born to the late Sam and Carrie Anderson.

Mother Williams attended the schools in Terrell County that was mostly located in local churches in the community where the family lived.

In 1936, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Conway “Bud Tank” Williams and their union was blessed with eight children.

She joined I Hope Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member for over 75 years.  She served as a choir member, Deaconess and Mother of the church.

Recent years she united with the Psalm 23 Church family under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Douglas Currington and served as Mother of the church also.  After the closure of Psalm 23 she united with the Master’s House Baptist Church family under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Clifford Browner.

Mother Williams held to the virtues of being independent even at 99 years old.  She attended Church until her health declined.  She was attending Bible Study, Sunday School and Regular worship services on a weekly schedule until May 2018.  “Tell them I love them: (The last message mother Williams sent to her church family).

She was always the life of the many outings when she traveled on her Senior Citizen trips, church trips and Sunday’s dinners with her church family and friends.

On Friday, July 13, 2018, God sent one of His death angels from heaven to Dawson Health and Rehabilitation to carry our loved one home to get her crown.  In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband Conway “Bud Tank”; two daughters, Carrie Jones, Bernice Trim; and one son, John Wesley Williams; one sister, Mary Ousley; three brothers, Ben Frank Anderson, Horace Cutts, and Leroy Cutts.

Precious memories will forever be etched upon the hearts of her loving and devoted children, Conway (Barbara) Williams, Jr. of Wilmington, North Carolina; Deacon Bennie (Carolyn) Williams of Dawson, GA; Lucy Williams of Cambridge, Massachusetts; John T. Williams of Boston Massachusetts; Son-In-law, Robert Trim of Newark, New Jersey; sixteen grandchildren; ninety five great grandchildren; fourteen great -great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
